Who is Our Pastor?

Reverend Steven Swanson has been our pastor since August 2004. He is a graduate of North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago, IL and was ordained pastor in the Evangelical Covenant Church in 1984. Pastor Steve has served three congregations in the United States and most recently has completed 7 years service in eastern Berlin, Germany, where he worked as a church-planter and missionary pastor. Reverend Swanson is married to Barbara, who has served as a missionary nurse in Central Africa.

Steve and Barbara share a passion for mission and outreach. They want AIPC to be a spiritual "home away from home" for any expatriate living in the greater Antwerp area, but they also want to build bridges to the local community. Together with a warm and welcoming congregation, they strive to shine as witnesses to the love of God in Jesus Christ. Barbara and Steve enjoy music and they are also avid swimmers and cyclists. You can always find them ready to explore the city or countryside with new friends.
